Learning, Sharing and Scaling throughout Africa

Through the BID Learning Network (BLN), many countries in sub-Saharan Africa participate in the design and testing of BID tools and interventions. The BLN enables peer-to-peer learning exchanges to ensure BID Initiative’s solutions will be relevant for and adopted by other countries interested in improving their health programs through better data and decision-making

Tanzania Field Visits – December 2015

While attending the December 2015 BLN Discussion Meeting, we visited various health facilities in Arusha, Tanzania where we are currently rolling out BID Initiative interventions. The field visits allowed us to speak with health workers to learn more about how BID is improving health service delivery and creating efficiency in their day-to-day work. We also observed the electronic immunization registry in practice and how BID is building a culture of improved data collection, quality and use.

BLN Discussion Meeting – Arusha, Tanzania

Sixty participants from 17 countries joined our team in Arusha, Tanzania from 7-11 of December 2015, for a BID Learning Network (BLN) Discussion Meeting. The meeting provided an opportunity for country representatives and various partner organizations to discuss the challenges and best practices around developing and implementing eHealth strategies and improving data collection, quality and use across health systems.

Participants discussed the design, development, and implementation of Logistics Management Information Systems (LMIS) within the African context.
