BLN Webinar: Piloting of the e-Tracker App in the DHIS2 in The Gambia

The BID Learning Network (BLN)  invites you to a webinar presentation on “Piloting of the e-Tracker App in the DHIS2 in The Gambia.” In 2016, the Expanded Programme on Immunization of The Gambia received a small grant from the BLN to pilot an Electronic Immunization Registry (EIR) with the main objective of strengthening the data management capacity at central and regional levels in the country. The presenter will describe Gambia’s experience with piloting the e-Tracker App in DHIS2. He will specifically highlight the process, the challenges and lessons learned.

This webinar will be of interest to Data Management Specialists, EPI Managers, Health Management Information System (HMIS) Specialists and other health care specialists committed to improving data collection, quality and use across the health system.

PRESENTERS:

Mbye Njie

Mbye Njie has been working in public health since 2000, where his initial focus was on immunization, disease surveillance and other public health-related activities. In 2006, Mr. Njie became Divisional Vector Control Officer and in 2011, was appointed Senior Malaria Control Officer, a position that he held until 2012. He consulted for the STOP Program in Nigeria from 2013 to 2014. In 2015, he was assigned to the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) under the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare in The Gambia as Capacity Building Manager, where he was responsible for strengthening the program and coordinating training activities. He is currently the Senior VPD Surveillance Officer under EPI. Mr. Njie holds a HND in Public Health, MSc in Public Health Entomology, and certificates in Management Skills for Supervisors and Field Epidemiology.

Catherine Muyawala

Catherine Muyawala, the BID Learning Network Community Coordinator, is a knowledge management specialist with over 20 years of experience in information management, including coordinating communities of practice. She has held various knowledge management related portfolios in diverse sectors, including public health. Catherine holds a BA in Library and Information Science and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).
