Blogging for Better Data

Welcome to our blog! It’s been just over a year since the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation awarded PATH with a grant to help countries strengthen their immunization management systems. Since then, we’ve made a lot of progress working with countries and partners to shape the Better Immunization Data (BID) Initiative and determine the best way forward for improving data collection, quality and use.

We know that having access to accurate, reliable, and timely data can substantially improve effective and efficient service delivery, making the difference between a child receiving an immunization versus being turned away due to stock outs or other logistical reasons. It can help find and immunize those children who are typically more difficult to access. The BID Initiative believes that better data, plus better decisions, will lead to more lives saved. Period. Our blog will include voices from the BID Initiative team, our country partners and global stakeholders all interested in how we can use data to improve immunization outcomes and increase the health of families around the world.

I invite you to watch our video and explore the website for more information about the BID Initiative’s approach and how you can get involved. Subscribe to this blog and sign up for our e-Newsletter to stay-up-to date on our journey. This website is your platform, your tool, and your community to engage. You are a critical part of the BID Initiative solution and we hope you will visit us frequently and jump in to the BID Learning Network page to join the discussion, share your perspective and increase your knowledge.
