Mollel

The BID Initiative team works across three countries in the United States, Tanzania, and Zambia. This week, we learn more about Loishiye Mollel, System Implementation Specialist in Tanzania.

My role as the System Implementation Specialist is to introduce and perform intervention rollout activities across the selected region, implementing the immunization registry system within health facilities, testing and monitoring the system performance. I also train and support health facilities and develop the system assessment and provide feedback and recommendations.

What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever done? Leaving my wife away for more than one year for new job appointment.  I felt like a failure with a ‘smell of’ divorce, but I managed.

If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor? Dr. Henry Mwanyika. He has inspired and accelerated my success.

What chore do you absolutely hate doing? Criticizing and accusing others for their mistakes. I’d rather like to help them change and learn from mistakes to grow.

What do you like most about your job? I like working with a really strong, close-knit group of people who all genuinely like and respect each other–that is pretty rare, in my experience.

What is one of your favorite quotes? “The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”  —Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela
