The BID Initiative team works across three countries in the United States, Tanzania, and Zambia. This week, we learn more Hassan Mtenga, Project Manager in Tanzania.

What is your role on BID? As a Project Manager, my role is to make sure the BID Initiative is successfully implemented in Tanzania and that the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare will take the lead ownership in the implementation to assure sustainability.

When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time? I usually spend my free time with my kids watching cartoons.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? My childhood dream was to be a pilot, particularly navy pilot.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? I would love to learn to fly an airplane.

What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity? I am an outdoor person and my favorite activity is gardening. I love nature and is feels good to be close to nature always.

If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor? Dr Henry Mwanyika because he usually gives me a problem and doesn’t give me much of the solution and this makes me think, learn, and try new things helping me grow as person as well as professionally.
