Emmanuel

The BID Initiative team works across three countries in the United States, Tanzania, and Zambia. This week, we learn more about Emmanuel Samalumo, Office Coordinator/Sr. Driver in Zambia.

What is your role on BID? I do all of the coordination of the office in the Livingstone office and will be the lead driver for the BID team when rollout begins.

What do you love most about your work? My work enables me to interact with Provincial, District, facility staff and community members on health-related issues. It also puts me in a position where I am able to contribute to the health and wellbeing of society.

What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?  My favorite outdoor activity is swimming.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? When I was a child, I really wanted to become a Church Minister for the reason that I really admired our local Reverend putting on a cassock.

What are your hobbies? My hobbies are fishing and cycling.

What is your favorite food? My favorite food is nshima with charcoal roasted fish, it really goes well with okra.

If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor? My mentor is my father. He always taught me to be humble, hardworking in whatever task you are assigned to do; be it at work or anywhere else, and have respect for others.

Emmanuel has been supportive to the field office (Livingstone) operations and the BID team as a whole. He helps with the coordination of the office, including arranging for meetings and workshops and driving staff. He has been flexible to support other Projects such as MACEPA once in a while. He is a valuable staff to our team.” Chansa Katongo, Finance and Operations Manager, Zambia
