The BID Initiative team works across three countries in the United States, Tanzania and Zambia. This week, we learn more about Chansa Katongo, Finance & Operations Manager in Zambia.

Who is your hero? Nelson Mandela

Where was your favorite vacation? Livingstone, Zambia

What is your proudest accomplishment? Having supported at least 10 family members with their education, some of whom are working and are independent.

What are your hobbies? Gardening, watching soccer, and comedy.

If money was no object, what would you do all day? Gardening and doing community work.

What motivates you to work hard? Helping to develop our country.

Since joining PATH in late September, Chansa has been working tirelessly to support the BID Initiative. Just days after his start with PATH, he traveled to Livingstone to set up the project office there, obtaining multiple quotes on every item and service needed, then overseeing delivery and set up of equipment and supplies while at the same time supporting the BLN team in planning and logistics for the design meeting held in Lusaka in early December. The tasks were many and the timelines were very short, but through commitment (and many long nights) the Livingstone office was ready and the BLN meeting was a success. We greatly appreciate all of Chansa’s hard work on behalf of PATH.” Christina Smith, Seattle Project Administrator
