Team Member Spotlight: Balwant Godara

The BID Initiative team works across three countries in the United States, Tanzania, and Zambia. This week, we learn more about Balwant Godara, BLN Network Manager for Zambia (lives in India).
What is your role on BID? Ensure the effective management and coordination of the BID Learning Network to enable effective participation and engagement of participants from around the Sub-Saharan Africa region.
When you have 30 minutes of free time, how do you pass the time? Mostly thinking about what I would do if I had 30 months of free time.
What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity? Riding my motorbike very early in the morning.

What do you like most about your job? As a consultant in the use of ICT in health systems, I am discovering the equivalent of entire continents- literally and figuratively.
What is your proudest accomplishment? Having registered- partly by chance, partly by design- a career and life path set out for me. In my own little way, and without any conceit, “I shall be telling this with a sigh, somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference”.
