The BID Learning Network (BLN) invites you to watch a webinar entitled “Electronic Immunization Registry: Lessons from Kenya.” 

In this webinar, the presenter shares the electronic immunization registry (EIR) implementation milestones in Kenya by providing an overview, the situation analysis process, limitations, achievements and lessons learned. The audience learns about the implementation approach that Kenya has used, its partnership program, as well as the customization and development process of the EIR.

This presentation should be of interest to Data Management Specialists, EPI Managers, Health Management Information System (HMIS) Specialists and other health care specialists committed to improving data collection, quality and use through electronic data management systems.

PRESENTER: JEREMIAH M. MUMO

Jeremiah is a Health Information Specialist with over 13 years of work experience in the Kenyan health sector.  He is currently working with the Ministry of Health Kenya at a national level in the Division of Health Informatics Monitoring and Evaluation. Jeremiah previously worked with the World Health Organization as a STOP Data Analytics Consultant in Pakistan. He was involved in the development of the various national health data standards, protocols and guidelines. He was the master facilitator for the Kenya Electronic Medical Record and customization of Ministry of Health data collection tools in the District Health Information Software (DHIS2). He has been involved in the development of program and organization-wide capacity building in monitoring and evaluation through training and mentoring. He also participates in health information system assessments and program evaluations. Jeremiah also serves on the DHIS/Master File List Service Desk in assisting end users in the regions and sub-regions.  He holds a BSc. in Health Records and Information Management and a MSc. in Health Information Management.

MODERATOR: MS. CATHERINE MUYAWALA

Catherine Muyawala, the BLN Community Coordinator, is a knowledge management specialist with over 20 years of experience in information management and dissemination. She has held various knowledge management related portfolios in diverse sectors including public health, where she championed the use of mHealth solutions for Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) in sexual and reproductive health among adolescents. During the course of her career she acquired diverse skills that have culminated into coordinating both social communication and strategic information programs, events management, communities of practice facilitation among multi-sectoral and multi-cultural stakeholders.  Catherine holds a BA in Library and Information Science and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).
