The BID Initiative team works across three countries in the United States, Tanzania and Zambia. This week, we learn more about Dawn Seymour, Technical Advisor in Zambia.

What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever done? One of the hardest things I have ever done is also one of my proudest accomplishments. Five friends and I ran a relay race as a team from Miami, Florida to Key West, Florida for a total distance of 200 miles / 322km. The training and the race itself at times were physically and mentally taxing, but the full experience was so much fun! To top it off we finished in first place for the women’s ultra division.

What is one of your favorite quotes?  “The light, the sky, the water, they were all things you looked through during the day. At night, they were things you looked into.” ~ The Orphan Master’s Son: A Novel

Who is your hero?  Frederick Douglass

Where was your favorite vacation?  Tanzania. We went to Ngorongoro Crater and Zanzibar for our honeymoon.

“Dawn is an excellent new addition to our team.  She is an excellent team player, always ready to roll up her sleeves and do whatever is needed.” – Liz Peloso, BID Global Director, Zambia
